Solid Advice For People
Who (Think They) Don’t Need Advice

Ever notice how the people who most need professional advice are the ones who think they don’t?

Teenagers are perhaps at the top of this long list. “Mo-o-o-om! I don’t need you to tell me what to wear!”

(This might explain what you see teenagers wearing at the stores this holiday season.)

Husbands – who, after all, are generally just older teenagers – don’t need you to tell them what route to take. You probably noticed this during the recent Thanksgiving holiday, when you went over the river and through the woods, and then had to backtrack several miles to Grandmother’s house.

Wives can be no less convinced of their own expertise. The fact that they’re usually right is beside the point.

When you own a small business, though, you probably understand that – while you are definitely super smart about many things – you can use all the help you can get.

That’s where your Friendly Bean Counter (FBC) (me) can help. Sometimes, you need bookkeeping advice (or even a little financial advice) from someone who has seen it all.

After all, you know how to look after your own business, sure. But your FBC is a professional who helps look after lots of different businesses, and there may be things those other businesses have learned that could be beneficial to yours!

For instance, since you’re busy with your specific company, you might not have it on the top of your mind to get your W-9 forms ready for service providers and contractors for the fast-approaching tax season…

… Or, you might not remember to have your employees complete new W-4 forms with any address changes, so their W-2s go to the right place…

… Or, if your firm has a payroll to look after, you might be distracted by holiday sales and lose sight of whether all of your employee data is up-to-date.

In short, it might just be possible that you don’t know what you don’t know!

And it might be possible that I can help with that.

Reach out to schedule a consultation with your FBC today, and we’ll make sure your company has the maximum readiness for the weeks and months ahead, while using a minimum of your personal time and energy.

After all, you need that time, and you need that energy, if for no other reason than that she’s about to leave the house dressed like that again, and you need to explain things to the neighbors.

Don’t Be Too Busy For Your Best Buddy

Here it is, the holiday season for you two-leggers, and we dogs have noticed a great mood of gratitude these past few days.

That’s great, and all, but we’ve also noticed that things are getting pretty darn busy around the house, too.

Sadie here, Dottie’s canine buddy and overseer, and this month, I offer a friendly reminder about the importance of taking care of your furry friends during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

We can’t fill our own water bowls. At least, not with water.

We also can’t scoop the kibble into our bowls – we would need opposable thumbs for that.

And we definitely can’t get enough fresh air if you leave us in the car during those “just for a minute” shopping trips that end up taking hours.

So enjoy the holiday season… but remember to make sure someone is giving us a season to enjoy, too! We’ll all be thankful when you do.

Bow, wow!

Non-Profit Spotlight

The Vill-Angel Clinic – You Can Help!

One of the non-profit organizations your Friendly Bean Counter is delighted to support is Angel Covers, which does amazing work all over the world for people who really need support.

One example is Fentra, and his wife Jackline, who – with great support from Angel Covers and generous donors like you – have realized a dream-come-true not only for themselves, but for an entire Kenyan village in the creation of the Vill-Angel Clinic.

Thanks to folks like you, and the efforts of Fentra and Jackline (who’ve invested countless years in becoming qualified), the Vill-Angel Clinic is helping Kenyans who need – but can’t afford – quality health care.

One of the best things you could possibly do with just a few of your dollars this holiday season is to help support this most worthy of causes:

Won’t you join us in supporting Fentra, Jackline, and the Vill-Angel Clinic in Kenya? While spirit of gratitude is upon us, this is the time to offer a helping hand to those who really need it.

Thank you!
