Get Your Tax Reporting Forms Done

Let me be one of the very last to wish you a Happy New Year!
Last year is over, and this year promises to be even better. For one thing, here’s the first installment of the all-new Volume III of Bean There, Done That, your guide to the wonderful world of bookkeeping and fly fishing.
(Well, bookkeeping, anyway.)
In this nutrient-rich, low-glycemic serving of metaphoric beans, you’ll learn everything there is to know about bookkeeping and finance, with a few notable exceptions that aren’t important to you in your daily life.
And you’ll be reminded of some critical things you already know, but about which you probably need reminding, since you’re busy and don’t have time to do everything yourself.
I’m happy to serve!
Once again, as a new year dawns, thanks for making DK/RK Services your first choice in bookkeeping… and for passing this edition on to your many friends who’ll want to subscribe for a “monthly smile.”

A Healthy Serving of Beans
In this edition, we step away briefly from the topic of fly fishing to discuss certain things that make certain people feel a certain way.
And what could be more important?
Take it from your Friendly Bean Counter (FBC): This is a crucially important topic for this time of the young year.
This is the time of the young year when you’ve finished the hectic holiday season, and it’s now time to embark on the much-more-hectic remainder of the year.
Yes, here in the bleak mid-winter, it’s time to do certain things (get your stuff in) that make certain people (your bookkeeper, your accountant, and the Tax Man) feel a certain way (happy… or at least less grumpy… or, as a bare minimum, not thunderingly upset with you).
If you haven’t yet put 2020 completely to rest, you may feel a downright cathartic joy as you round up all those receipts, deposit slips, payables, receivables, edibles – wait, not edibles – and all that other bookkeeping related stuff and get it over to your FBC.
If you haven’t yet sent all your Bookkeeping Stuff (BS) to your friendly bookkeeper, now is the time… so that you can have all your books in a row and your ducks buttoned up before you send things to your tax accountant.
Do that, and your tax return will be much easier (and much less expensive) for your accountant to file, and this will make everybody on the acronym list all happy. Or at least not thunderingly upset.
To recap, it’s like this:
BS… FBC… CPA… IRS… ASAP.
LOL!
But seriously, please do this favor for everyone who’s in a position to help your business minimize its tax liability and maximize its profitable beans. We’ll all appreciate it… and so will you!
Discussion Questions
- 1Have you ever tried to button-up a duck? Make and submit a four-minute how-to video
- 2Other than “Three Letter Acronym” (which would be a great name for a heavy-metal string trio) how many things can you name which could be abbreviated “TLA?” Keep it clean. This is a family show.
- 3Does your bookkeeper have everything they need to make your firm’s books fully ready for the tax preparer?
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Your FBC Can Help You Get Your Tax Reporting Forms Done
Your firm’s Tax Reporting Forms (TRFs) include the W-2s and 1099s your employees and contractors need to file their own taxes.
Here’s the deal: Many people get their TRF in the mail in January, only to toss it into a folder and not even look at it until close to tax-filing time.
If there are boo-boos in the TRF at that point, they’re awfully difficult (if not impossible) to get fixed on time!
So shoot your Friendly Bean Counter an email and get the ball rolling on ensuring these forms are as accurate as possible, and sent as soon as possible.
You might also ask your people to check them, too, right away.
Don’t forget: at DK/RK Services, you’re always “more than a number.” We WANT to take care of your bookkeeping, professionally and personably, so you can focus on running and growing a great business enterprise! Please check out our many enthusiastic FIVE STAR online reviews (Yelp, Google, Facebook, you name it). We look forward to earning our next great review from YOU.
You know someone who could use valuable bookkeeping insights… or, at least, a smile.
